Overview

This is an examination of Sasanian Zoroastrianism. He concludes that, though it had its limitations as a viable religion, satisfying the yearnings of people looking for the ultimate religious truth, its survival to the present day in Iran indicates a certain resilience, and that Islam may have derived some of its mystical fervour from it.
