He has a B.A. in history, and an M.A. as well as a PhD in psychology, from Uppsala University. His main research interests are driver behaviour and accidents. He has also published on the topics of risk perception and fuel-efficient driving. He has worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Risk Research, Stockholm School of Economics, and led various projects at Uppsala University's Department of Psychology.
