Following her PhD in Technical Textiles, which was supported by the then Acordis Ltd, she went on to do postdoctoral research at Heriot-Watt University, UK, working on EU funded innovation projects. When she left academia, she joined the R&D team at Convatec Ltd, one of the global market leaders in advanced wound care. Sharon subsequently went on to work for SSL International Plc, and Reckitt-Benckiser Plc, continuing to work on the development of medical devices. Since 2014, Sharon has been concentrating on her own personal projects, and has maintained a high level of interest in the development and advances in wound care.
