Father Robert J. Kus, R.N., Ph.D., is Pastor of the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary in Wilmington, N.C. Ordained a Catholic priest in 1998, Fr. Bob is a sociologist, psychiatric-mental health nurse, writer, and university professor. In addition to practicing nursing in many states, he has been on the faculty of several universities including the University of Montana, the University of Iowa, the University of Texas at Austin, and North Carolina State University. When he wrote this journal, he was pastor of St. Catherine of Siena Parish in Wake Forest, N.C.
