OverviewNew Zealand fiction - a standalone New Zealand story. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The mistake I made was opening the book! At some point my husband asked me what was for dinner. I waved my hand at him and said, 'bread and cheese in the fridge'! Erica ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was amazing! The story just draws you in - I wanted to keep reading it. I bought this for my teenage granddaughter and decided to read it first so we could both discuss it. It grabbed me straight away and pulled me through the narrative at speed - I had to see what happened next. I read the second half in one sitting to find out how a quite complex narrative could possibly be resolved, but resolved it was in a most satisfying and unexpected way. I felt as if I was inside the head of the main character, Anita, as she is portrayed with care and insight, and with enough supporting details which never slow down the narrative. The fantasy aspect always feels very natural, and the scientific gems are perfect. I loved it! Sue D. Goodreads Reviewer ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When Justine Pickering approached me recently about stocking her book Dream Sisters, I was immediately drawn to the cover, which I love! Obviously there has to be more to a book than its cover, and after reading the description on the back, I was interested enough to not only stock the book, but also to read it. The font's a good size, the chapters are short, and the plot had enough twists and turns to keep me enthralled without losing my way. I read it over a three day weekend, because I found it hard to put down, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. While the story is about a couple of teens, that didn't bother me as a 65 year old, because it's well written and really interesting. Michelle Grey ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ""The many time zones and twists woven into the plot made an amazing read that couldn't be put down. I've been reading it again, and I think it's fantastic."" Ashleigh Gore ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I loved the way that Anita and Nita have a connection and how the time lines intertwine and the way each is explored. and the way it kept me wanting more. I loved it so much that as soon as I had finished reading it, I read again straight after. Isobella A. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ""Couldn't put it down, had to know what happens next!"" Thomas Gear ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ ""I stayed up half the night reading it as I wanted to know what happened!"" Rita T. In 2019 New Zealand, Anita is yearning for the happier life of her childhood. In 1829 an unforeseeable accident damaged Nita's lightship, leaving her stranded in New Zealand's past. The girls have never met, but they share a connection that will bridge their minds across time. Dream Sisters is a time-slip, time-travelling story about the importance of family and friends, which celebrates what can be created in life when the limits we put on ourselves are cast aside.
