She grew up loving manga and anime culture in the 1970s and 80s in Japan, which eventually led to her earning a BA in Fine Art. In 2008 she moved across the world to the UK, exhibiting at Hyper Japan and Comic Con. She also ran Manga Social Night, a monthly gathering of manga and anime fans, for seven years.
