Dr Ida P. Rolf The American psychotherapist Will Schutz described her as ""a courageous pioneer, a warm and sensitive human being."" He was referring to Dr Ida Rolf, the founder of Structural Integration. She recognised the central importance of the body's fascia and developed a method of working with the fascia to influence the body's internal tension patterns in such a way that the body and gravity come into alignment and the quality of movement improves. Ida Rolf's understanding of the human being was shaped by the unity of body and soul. She viewed physical and psychological processes as manifestations of a single underlying continuum.
