OverviewThis is the autobiography of Dougie Donnelly, one of Scotland's most successful and best loved broadcasters. Donnelly has presented Scotland playing in football World Cups and European Championships, a Scottish club in a European Final, Europe winning Ryder and Solheim Cups and a Scottish golfer winning a Major. He was there when Scotland won two rugby Grand Slams and medals in Olympic and Commonwealth Games, and when Stephen Hendry was the greatest snooker player in the world. Oh, and he interviewed an American President on stage at the Royal Albert Hall! He still travels the world commentating on golf at the highest level. I love him because he reminds me of a great time in my life when I was full of hope for the future and Doogly always encouraged it. He has become a huge success and he thoroughly deserves it. What memories we share — and what a memoir!' From the Foreword by Billy Connolly 'Moving comfortably from sport to sport – as Dougie has done – doesn’t happen by accident. It takes long hours of background research to get to know as much about the sport as possible – its history, skills and pitfalls. That knowledge then lets Dougie earn the trust and respect of the participants – and that is reflected in the quality of his interaction with them. A professional to the core!' Ally McCoist 'Dougie’s voice is as distinctive as it is familiar in homes across the country – and no matter what sport you follow, watch or listen to. Dougie’s sporting wisdom, knowledge and talent matched with his humour, kindness and professionalism makes him always interesting and enjoyable to be around.'
