Double Cross: the domino killings

Overview

DOUBLE CROSS is a case of greed, family rivalry and murder that is assigned to Detective Kara Bandini. What begins as a simple fraud turns into a robbery of $100K and a million in diamonds. When a fresh kill surrounded by three attack dogs is found in the adjoining West Hills backyard of one of Portland's richest Mobsters, it becomes a murder complicated with politics, power and money. The killing ignites a rivalry between Greog Steen and Isodore Solokov, the two wealthiest Mobsters in Portland. They and Kara are in a race to find the killers. Kara, to bring them to justice. The Mobsters will do anything to find and kill them and claim the money and jewels. Upping the danger for Kara happens when she kills Gregg Steen's sons and he vows to kill her. At stake is revenge for the murders and control of millions in illegal drug sales and sex trafficking in Portland and the West Coast. Knowing her job as a cop is on the line, Kara is relentless in her hunt to bring the killers to justice while fighting the corruption by the mayor of the Police Bureau in his striving to become governor. Kara is partnered with Detective Stack because her regular partner, Detective Roberts, is still recovering from a gunshot wound she received in Kara's home a month ago while fighting to capture a serial killer. For Bandini and Stack, it's an uneasy partnership because neither agrees to what justice is in the dark world where they work and Kara thrives.
