Dorothy L Sayers' Britain

Overview

A fold-out guide that traces the landscapes, streets, and buildings linking the life of Golden Age crime writer Dorothy L. Sayers (1893 1957) with those of her best-known creations, Harriet Vane and Lord Peter Wimsey. Across London, Oxford, English villages and into Scotland and Wales, this richly illustrated map identifies where Sayers lived and worked, and where her novels unfold - from the Piccadilly flat that inspired Wimsey's address at 110a, to the Oxford quads and cathedral towns that shape Gaudy Night and The Nine Tailors. Each entry includes background on its literary or biographical significance, drawing connections between Sayers' own experiences and the fictional worlds she created. The result is a vivid companion for readers and travellers - an invitation to explore the authentic settings behind some of the defining mysteries of the Golden Age of detective fiction.
