Author Information

Sylvia Rivera is an advocate, writer, and speaker on behalf of girls, tweens, teens, and young women who all are more vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, and trafficking than they or their parents realize. She educates and influences to prevent their harm. She also informs parents, teachers, leaders, and others who desire to safeguard unsuspecting girls of all ages. She has prior experience with teens as a high school English teacher; has earned two master's degrees: one in Mass Communications/Journalism and the other in Intercultural Relations; and has been a volunteer with an antitrafficking team. Sylvia is a licensed Assemblies of God minister; has taught in the AG Bible School of Spain. She is currently affiliated with the AG Latin America Theological Seminary that teaches and trains ministry leaders and pastors in 13 countries, through which she is a guest speaker for the courses of Social Issues and Biblical Social Ethics. She is married and enjoys reading, solving crossword puzzles, developing relationships with internationals, exploring unfamiliar places and subjects, and walking in the beauty of creation.
