MacKenzie Cadenhead was born and raised in New York City, where she mastered her driver's ed lessons on the Lower East Side but never quite learned how to ride a bike. She has a BA in English from Haverford College and an MFA in Dramaturgy from Brooklyn College. Favorite past employment includes pizza delivery person, IHOP waitress, production dramaturg, and comic book editor at Marvel Comics (not in that order). These days she writes children's books and comics, and reads them to her family (both human and canine). She is the author of the Marvel Mutts comics series, the middle grade novel Sally's Bones, the YA Thriller Sleeper, and the Marvel Super Hero Adventures series of chapter books. In writer Orson Scott Card's Ultimate Iron Man II, Ferry brought out the bleeding-edge dynamism of Iron Man's armor. He was also writer Mike Carey's art partner on Ultimate Fantastic Four. His other work includes Ultimate X-Men/Ultimate Fantastic Four and Ultimate Fantastic Four/Ultimate X-Men. Ferry helped writer Chip Zdarsky answer the question ""What if Spider-Man had kept his symbiotic black costume?"" in Spider-Man- Spider's Shadow.
