"Gone are the days when my parents told me ""children should speak only when spoken to."" In a world filled with bullies, school shootings and bombings, I believe children need to speak out now more than ever. As a mom of two kids whose schedule can get a bit hectic with school, sports and other activities, I recognize that my children are not always within her watchful sight. This prompt me to teach them how to be watchful of their surroundings, just as I would, as a mom and a trained professional.
