Overview

Donald Davidson's views on the nature of language, mind and action occupy a prominanat posistionin the philosophical literature and are a starting point for much of the contemporary analytic philosophy. His views, however, are complex, inteconnecting with one another in a myriad of ways and reinforcing one another in a way that makes it difficult for students to understand simpply by reading a single piece or two of his work. This introduction pulls together and examines Davidson's writings across the range of his journal and anthology publications and communicates clearly the challenge of Davidson's critique and how it deports from the analytic tradition.
