This book is filled with pictures of days in the life of Ella. . . scenes of the fall, or autumn season. And, most children love animals. . . especially dogs. The story is easy to read, and the author has asked a question on many of the pages to prompt children to think about what was on that page, or relate it to something in their life--taking the experience of this story to another level. I would highly recommend this book for children. I think it would be a great asset for teachers to have as a resource for a lesson on autumn. And, as a grandmother, I will enjoy reading it to my smaller grandchildren! What a fun children's story! The real-life photos make Ella seem like a dog any child would know. The questions posed in the book really make the book interactive and draw the reader in. It can be a picture book for young children and an early reader book for those just learning to read. Well done! Fall is my favorite time of year so this fall themed book was a delight. It was cute to see it from Ella the doggy's point of view. The pictures were great and the questions on each page keep my children engaged. Great book as are all in this series. Highly recommend! As expected, Ms. Flaagan has delivered the goods! This series is ideal for parents and grandparents seeking a dialogue with children. the combination of beautiful pictures and open-ended questions naturally leads to further conversation by engaging children and asking them to think for themselves. This is a book that demands reading to a child, rather than a book to be read by one's self. Looking forward to the next one. A very sweet story. It gets the kids and the kid in you involved in Ella's life. I like that the author asks the children questions, so that they are involved in the story, and they're able to contribute to it. The use of actual photos instead of illustrations makes it very real, especially if the family reading this has a dog. I could see a child saying that their dog did some of the same things in the book. It's a book I'd read again. Great job! Report abuse 5.0 out of 5 starsMy kids LOVE this book By Aaron on November 17, 2015 Format: Kindle Edition My kids LOVE this book! We have a husky mix and my kids just get a kick out of reading a book with a husky in it. The reading is easy enough for my 7 year old to read and follow and they love seeing all of Ella's adventures! I got this book to have on my iPad to read to my grandkids. The photos are fun and eye-catching. The text is a good length for toddlers and simply interactive by asking them questions to engage them. I get tired of kids books that try to be too philosophical or educational. This one just shares a love of life and dog, which I think is perfect. ""I loved this book about Ella the Doggy!
