Overview

In 1850 California, a brilliant doctor known only as The Doctor of the Dead hunted vampire fangs, werewolf claws, and zombie teeth for one purpose-bringing monsters back to life under his control. His experiments worked too well, and soon towns fell to an army that bullets could not stop. But his first creation escaped. Huge, stitched together, and feared on sight, the creature should have become the worst of them. Instead, it watched families protect each other, learned restraint, and chose to fight the monsters it was made to serve. Armed with silver weapons forged in secret, the Humble Beast became the only force strong enough to face the Doctor's leaders, save the hunted, and end the nightmare at its source. Because some monsters are born to kill. And some decide not to.
