DO THE CRIME is a provocative collection of crime fiction that leans toward the hard-boiled side. Along the way, we are treated to insights into human behavior as well as morsels of humor. Here, grievances ride high while the players in these dramas try to settle scores and still their pain. Retribution is a major theme throughout the book. His old friend Joey goes along with the plan for a while, then makes his own life. Little by little, Max shares his dark history, and Joey's big mistake. It All Comes Back - When a friendship is torn beyond repair, payback with a bullet starts to look appealing. Morning Train - An angry commuter makes terrifying plans for his job. Iron Bars - A disillusioned prisoner issues a stark invitation. Always Such a Quiet Street - Ryan, a college student, enjoys relaxing walks along quiet streets-until he's forced to stop a gunman and save a woman's life. Then Ryan finds himself in a tense situation as he learns that he's being framed for murder. A Fine Death - A lot of things bothered Keegan. So he got rid of them-one by one.
