OverviewThis is a series of four 6-leaf board books, in each of which the right-hand page contains a moving piece that slides within or beyond the page area. On each spread, a hidden animal describes its defining characteristics, and asks the reader to guess what it is. The text gives suggestions which are illustrated with these characteristics to create crazy, funny images such as a lion with an elephant's trunk or a duck with a pig's snout. When operated the mechanism in each page reveals a picture of the true animal described - with all its correct features in the right places! The last spread brings all the animals together, and points out the similarities as well as the differences - encouraging observational skills. The garden animals and pets are all mixed up.
