She has an MFA in Creative Writing from The New School, with a concentration in Writing For Children. Before starting DIY MFA, she worked as a writing teacher and freelance editor for over ten years. Her students range in age from kindergarteners to retirees, and she has worked with organizations such as 826NYC, Everybody Wins, and the East Harlem Tutorial Program.
