Overview

When a family friend asks to have her mehndi party at Divya's family's restaurant, Divya knows just how to decorate to make the party truly magical. But the adults are all busy planning the menu, and no one will listen to Divya's ideas. Divya decides to prove that she is responsible enough to contribute to the party by making a batch of her favorite sweet, ladoo, all by herself. Will she prove herself to her family, or will her plan be a total disaster?

Abhilasha is a children's book illustrator based in India. She transitioned into the whimsical world of children's books after working as an architect for over a decade. Illustrating children, animals, nature, and people has always come naturally to her. Since shifting her career, Abhilasha has worked with various indie publishers and authors on more than a dozen books. Abhilasha describes her art style as fluid and organic, as she loves to constantly experiment with color palettes and perspectives. She loves to work on multicultural, inclusive, and diverse children's books. In her free time, Abhilasha loves gardening, travelling, DIY, cooking and baking, and playing with her daughter and her cats. Sita Jit is a children's book author and elementary school teacher. Just like her character, Divya Dubey, she grew up close with her extended family in Canada and India. In her free time, Sita loves to read, listen to music, and play board games. She lives in Ontario with her husband and three children.
