Overview

Group of buildings in Divrigi are the representations of garden of life and concepts of love (mentioned in Khosrow and Shirin mesnevi, written by famous 12th century poet Genceli Niz mi) embodied in the stone. Those who visit the building today are welcomed by the tall Ahmet Shah with a pearl earring, who took the place of Ferhat standing against the Melike Turan, taking the place of Shirin with her knitted long hair and presented in all her beauty. The aim of the book in your hands is not to present the building complex. Some problems have been emphasized and evaluated, as well as some personal solutions have been proposed. Author of this book who is a professor at the Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Literature Department of Art History graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Literature Department of Archeology and Art History and finished his masters and PhD studies at the same university. Prof. Dr. Erdal Eser is currently carrying out achaeological excavations at the castle of Divrigi and has published works in this field.
