Reviews

For decades, this seminal book has exerted a far-reaching influence over a research domain increasingly popular among scholars of Hellenistic history, and one can reasonably expect that it will continue doing so in the upcoming future, also thanks to this new English edition. That a first work can have this brilliant destiny, is more than what most scholars (including the writer of this review) are reasonably allowed to wish for themselves. --S.G. Caneva, Universite de Liege, Bryn Mawr Classical Review 2017.11.52
