Overview

When I first laid eyes on the art of Gustav Klimt, I fell in love. The rich geometric work, the golden hues, the female essence, all of it came together to seduce my senses and I had to learn it, consume it, and paint it. These paintings represent my interpretation of the art of Gustav Klimt at the time. They are mostly self-portraits. My paintings include a tremendous amount of symbolism. The walls and surrounding often represent other places and locations, some out of this world and not obvious and mysterious in their origins. The clothing could represent portals amongst a myriad of other potential significance. There are also foreign, almost alien like languages and symbols as well as geometry throughout the work as well as other object all having symbolic meaning. One of these paintings was picked up by the BBC and displayed in the famous and celebrated documentary: Private Life of a Masterpiece: Gustav Klimt: The Kiss The painting is titled A Kiss of Death because in the painting I am dead. However, I choose to portray death not as an ending but as a beginning as I hold the key to immortality in my left hand. In front and on top of me is DEATH. I look to its dark opening and geometric black images of its cloak as portals into other dimensions. If you look closely at the face, there is a third eye in violet which is slightly visible on the forehead. What this means, is that there is no death.
