OverviewCo-teaching plays an important role in the New Middle School (NMS) system. This thesis therefore examines this topic, with a particular focus on professional conduct in co-teaching. The analyses were conducted using semi-standardised expert interviews at two NMS locations in Austria. The aim of this thesis is to test four hypotheses on the following characteristics: shared attitudes and values in joint teaching, characteristics of successful co-teaching, close cooperation and joint problem solving, and positive effects on teaching quality. All working hypotheses - with the exception of the third, which could only be partially confirmed - were verified.
