OverviewIt's no secret that diversity-related conflicts are rampant at this time in history, whether they're related to race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, other diversity dimensions, or the intersection of several at once. What is also becoming clear -- finally -- is that diversity-related harm such as discrimination, oppression, and genocide are not just part of the past, but are operating here and now on a daily basis, even if those dynamics are hidden or denied. People may say, ""If only we could talk calmly about these things,"" or ""If only we could see beyond these divisions,"" but many of us don't have the skill set, or the mindset, to do so effectively. This curriculum is a starting point and an introduction, intended to raise awareness about the many dimensions of diversity, to help us understand how these dimensions intersect with one another, and to learn how to have a more effective and compassionate understanding of, and conversations about, diversity. This is where we begin.
