As programme manager van der Poll has guided the Doctor of Business Leadership supervisors and students from 2016. Van der Poll holds a DCom in Financial Management Sciences obtained from the University of Pretoria, Pretoria. Van der Poll is the recipient of the Women in Research (WiR) support programme awarded by the University of South Africa in 2022. The project is entitled - Environmental Management Accounting (EMA): Addressing the Challenges Regarding Implementation, Management Commitment and Opportunities in the 4IR. Van der Poll’s research interest lies in Environmental Management Accounting. Van der Poll is the Academy for Global Business Advancement (AGBA) Vice President for South Africa, Southern region. Van der Poll has published over 40 peer-reviewed articles in accredited journals, mostly international journals and conference proceedings, as a National Research Foundation (NRF) C3-rated researcher. Conference papers were presented at national and international conferences.
