Most of us throughout the course of our everyday lives never step back and examine what is going on around us. We are so caught up on counting the days until Friday or checking our bank accounts online, that we fail to see what is occurring around the globe. For some of you the information contained within this book might sound familiar. Perhaps you read a brief headline or watched a thirty-second news clip on one of the subjects. This feeling of having read or seen something before is perfectly normal, and I promise that this sensation will come over you at least once while reading this book. Due to the vast amount of information our brain takes in on a daily basis, it needs to discard most things we encounter in everyday life. The purpose of Disturbing Times is not only to bring people back those discarded headlines but also to educate the reader on various other global issues. These topics are of great importance and they cannot afford to be forgotten. Disturbing Times combines the latest available data from various sources. Its main goal is to prepare humanity for a global future and its potential impact on our lives. This book aims to provoke such critical thinking by presenting a realistic picture of the world that surrounds us. Although at times the facts and figures presented here might be somewhat scary, this is the true reality in which we live. Various people have contributed to the making of Disturbing Times .
