Discord

Overview

Sadly, one of the common threads found in the fabric of a church coup is the desire of some to be a leader without first being willing to be a servant. Many would be quick to recite a long laundry list of all the things they do within their local fellowship, but tasks that are performed grudgingly, with an agenda, or without the heart of a servant are suspect. Still, God is the great judge, and He will decide what is wood, hay, and stubble, and what is gold. At the end of the day, all church coups emerge from a common root... the careless, intentional scattering of the seeds of discord. The willful, rebellious sower of discord has no regard for where his seeds fall. He does not love the soil. He is bent on corruption and for this reason, according to Proverbs, the sower of discord is listed among the things that God hates, and is labeled as an abomination to God. Discord is the fictional account of a minister in the crosshairs of a man who has a history of manipulating the local congregation, and of the members who have allowed him to divide them. Once again, they find themselves floundering in the wake of his attempts to add yet another pastor to his list of casualties. Cleston Chambers, however, is not an easy target, nor is he easily intimidated. He has agreed to step behind the pulpit and face unholy alliances head-on. His unorthodox policies soon create panic, and he is rumored to be a cult leader, but one thing is certain. Regardless of the unusually high number of turnovers of pastors that have earned this church the nickname of the Revolving Door Church, Pastor Cleston Chambers is determined that he will not be the next notch on their gun.

Author Information

Rhonda Hanson is one of a pair of twins, the youngest of ten siblings, raised on Black Bayou in Louisiana. For much of her childhood, she lived without the luxuries of indoor plumbing and electricity and, growing up without the Internet, devices, or television, she was left to discover the exciting worlds that can only be discovered within the pages of a good book. She is a collector of vintage children's books, and is not embarrassed to admit that she will reread the same book over and over, if it makes her happy. Her own imagination began to be challenged at an early age, and she would pen practically anything and everything that fermented in her mind, much of which is sadly lost or left back in her youth, probably in some old trunk in someone's barn.Today, Rhonda is a novelist, recording artist, songwriter, musician and speaker, but her most crowning achievement is being ""Grammy"" to her two granddaughters. She spends her days in middle Tennessee, writing, convincing feral cats that the Hanson Hotel is open for business, bragging to anyone who will listen about her grandchildren and tearing all her MacBooks apart and rebuilding them, because of her stubborn refusal to upgrade. Her first completed novel was ""Father's Choice"", book one in the three-book Father series, followed by ""Father's Wing""s and ""Father's Song"", and the linked novel ""Father's Friend"". Rhonda is also the author of a children's book, ""The Adventures Of Pahwoo And Her Friends"", which is the narrative of an ongoing bedtime story she regularly told her grandchildren, for a period of over seven years, ""The Master Of Hawthorn Manor"",""Buying The Farm"", ""Once Upon An Altar"", ""The Art of Letting Go"", ""Dancing to an Elegy for Eden"", ""The Long Goodbye"", ""Love Finds The Way Home"" and ""Linger"".
