The question of interpretation is as old as language itself. In today's post-modern context, however, the task of hermeneutics has become frustratingly complex. This timely collection of essays by ten leading scholars explores the diversity of contemporary Christian hermeneutical theory and practice. Roger Lundin (Ph.D., University of Connecticut) is Blanchard Professor of English at Wheaton College, Wheaton, IL. He is the author of many books and articles including Nature to Experience: The American Search for Cultural Authority, Emily Dickinson and the Art of Belief, The Culture of Interpretation: Christian Faith and the Postmodern World and The Promise of Hermeneutics (with Anthony Thiselton and Clarence Walhout). He has also edited several issues of Religion and Literature and books including Disciplining Hermeneutics: Interpretation in Christian Perspective. He is a 1999 Christianity Today Book Award Winner.
