Disaster In Transport

Overview

""Every decision you make has consequences... some of which are unintended."" Kash is a man of principle. Mostly. He prefers to keep his head down, his debts paid, and his ship-the Alley Cat Savant-safely among the stars. As a privateer with a hard-earned reputation, he roams the known galaxies taking on specialized tasks to carve out a living. All while steering clear of the corrupt government and the even more corrupt bureaucrats within-especially when they're laying traps. But when a favor pulls him into a high-stakes deal with one of those very bureaucrats, Kash quickly learns some jobs are too dangerous to ignore-or walk away from. With his brilliant and beautiful partner Calynn at his side, Kash dives headfirst into a mission he knows better than to accept. Old secrets and powerful enemies resurface, threatening their lives, their bond, and the fragile freedom they've fought to protect. What starts as a simple errand spirals into a war for survival. Along the way, they'll clash with government agents, space pirates, and a shadowy fence with an agenda of his own. As the galaxy grows darker, Kash and Calynn must decide just how far they're willing to go-not just to survive, but to retaliate. Explosive action, razor-sharp banter, and a heaping dose of heart make this high-octane space opera perfect for fans of daring rogues, found family, and galaxy-spanning adventure.

Reviews

I don't often stay up late reading, but I did for this one pulled in by the humanity and the craft. The balance between procedural moments (the investigation, the logistics) and intimate domestic scenes is handled deftly. Characters are never flattened into archetypes; each has messy moral logic that felt honest. The descriptive moments corridors, engines, waiting rooms were so tactile I could almost hear them. If anything, the book's strength is how it trusts the reader to sit with discomfort. There's a tenderness here that surprised me. This one will stick with me. - Goodreads reviewer. A moving, thoughtful novel that reads as both portrait and reckoning. The author's command of voice is impressive each chapter has a distinct emotional temperature. I loved how the story refused to rush toward neat answers, instead dwelling on consequences and small acts of care. Kash's scenes are quietly devastating and beautifully written. The book's empathy is its superpower: it sees characters fully without excusing harmful choices. If pressed, I'd say the middle section could have used a little narrative propulsion, but the payoff is worth it. A deeply humane read. - Goodreads Reviewer
