The author of the book, Claudia Martin has written extensively for children and young adults. She specializes in books on geography, history, fossils, dinosaurs, and the natural world. She lives in London. The author of the fact cards, Clare Hibbert specializes in non-fiction books for children of pre- and primary school age. She has been shortlisted for the prestigious Aventis Junior Science Prize, and won a dozen Practical Pre-School Gold Awards. Mat Edwards is an extraordinarily versatile artist, who can create everything from photo-realistic prehistoric vistas to vintage-style paintings. He has learnt at the feet of some tremendously skilled artists such as map makers and engravers, evolving from using purely traditional materials such as pencils, gouache, stretching paper to using almost all-digital methods.
