Some dinosaurs looked more like birds while other dinosaurs looked more like reptiles.Some creatures are sometimes called dinosaurs but they are actually not. Dinosaurs did not fly and they did not swim in the water. A dinosaur is an animal that lived on land.Flying dinosaurs like the Pteranodon belong to a family of animals called pterosaur. Dinosaurs that had fins and swam in the water actually belong to a different animal family called Ichthyosauria. Their names are a bit difficult to pronounce so sometimes we just put them under one name-dinosaurs.
