Table of ContentsReviews5 Stars - Reviewed by Bruce Arrington for Readers' Favorite The Dinosaur Tree by Michael Verrett is an intensely color-filled story about an industrious boy, set on doing his very best in a new job he acquires. He's hired by McVee to do all sorts of yard chores like chase rabbits, pull weeds, water flowers, etc. But then he comes across one plant that won't budge, no matter how hard he tries to get rid of it. From this comes an enlightening lesson. The book's art is amazing. Color-filled pages blaze throughout the entire book, adding excitement and energy to the story. The elaborate details reveal the painstaking work of the author/artist on each and every page. I certainly wish I had his talent. The story itself shows a strong character, demonstrating skill and ability in the tasks he is assigned. Even though he's a young lad, he is bound and determined to get the job done, no matter what. His excellent work ethic allows him to see, at the end, what he might have missed if he had just given up and gone elsewhere. His quick thinking and flexibility enable him to profit in the end, and allow others to make the same discoveries as he did. Though the story is very good, there are places where the words don't quite scan, throwing the rhyme and rhythm off-balance. However, the fantastic art makes up for it, sending the reader on a great ride. The Dinosaur Tree by Michael Verrett is a fun adventure that kids are sure to enjoy.
