Dr. Olaf Manz arbeitete zunächst als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter und Heisenberg-Professor an den mathematischen Instituten der Universitäten Mainz und Heidelberg. Er war anschließend langjähriger Mitarbeiter bei Siemens im IT-Produktmanagement und kennt Kryptografie von der praktischen Seite. Er ist auch Autor des ebenfalls bei Springer erschienenen Buchs „Verschlüsseln, Signieren, Angreifen“.
