He graduated with honours from the AA School of Architecture, where he subsequently taught as Studio Master and Unit Master in the AA Graduate School and the AA Diploma School. Neil Leach is a Professor at Tongji University, FIU and EGS. He has also taught at Harvard, AA, Columbia, Cornell, DIA, USC and SCI-Arc.
