Author Information

Don Pelechosky is a grandfather, lifelong construction professional, and proud excavator operator with more than 40 years of experience in the construction industry. On the day he turned eighteen, Don earned his Class 1 driver's license to drive big trucks, inspired by his father and determined to become a skilled operator himself. Over the years, he worked around heavy equipment every day, learning from some of the best operators in the field-and a few who showed him exactly what not to do.Among all the machines he operated during his career, the digger (excavator) was always his favorite. Known as an ""all-around cowboy of operators,"" Don built a reputation for knowing how to handle equipment safely and effectively. Now retired, Don still enjoys working with his digger on projects for himself, family, and friends. Through the Digger Don books, he shares his love of construction equipment and the importance of job site safety with young readers everywhere.
