OverviewNoise is a significant factor in reducing the quality of a holiday and thus also contributes to a decrease in overall satisfaction with a stay. The extent to which this applies to the stay, limited to the room, is the subject of the empirical part of this thesis. Further attention is paid to the importance of noise in comparison to other potential negative influencing factors. First, we discuss other possible disruptive factors that may occur or be present within a room in an accommodation establishment, the main types of noise that exist, the relevant legal provisions and the effects of noise on people. The results of this study show which aspects are important to guests in their rooms, with special consideration given to the factor of noise.
