OverviewIt analyses the Scotist doctrine of restitution comprehensively and in detail on the basis of the critically edited Ordinatio IV, partially taking account of his teachings in his Reportatio IV-A. In addition to that, this work provides a modern German translation of many relevant text passages from the critically edited Ordinatio IV. Throughout the work the doctrine of Duns Scotus is in many places embedded in the theological and partially canonistic discourse of the late 13th and beginning 14th century. Furthermore, the work contains many references to the late scholastic discourse and works out the significant, in some cases innovative and ground-breaking aspects of the doctrine of restitution of Duns Scotus. This way, it also contributes to the research of the foundations of late scholastic teachings.
