OverviewThe interpretations ascribed to the German Revolution of 1918 19 have undergone significant changes over time. It has been viewed alternatively as a stab in the back of the German army and treason against the Fatherland to an event that prevented the rise of Bolshevism and as a missed opportunity for democratization.
