Regine Claßen-Bockhoff hat von 1973 bis 1980 an der RWTH Aachen Biologie studiert, dort 1984 promoviert und 1994 habilitiert. Von 1998 bis 2020 war sie Professorin am Institut für Organismische und Molekulare Evolutionsbiologie (iomE) der Johannes-Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich der evolutionsbiologisch ausgerichteten Funktions- und Entwicklungsmorphologie von Blüten und Blütenständen.
