OverviewThis ""concise New Testament theology"" begins with the emergence of the canon and its theological aspects and then describes the fundamentals of the message in the inheritance of Israel and in the work and preaching of Jesus. This is followed by the presentation of the message of the individual gospels and letters and an overview of the common message of the gospels, of Paul and his school and of the Catholic letters. In the final part, the New Testament is looked at as a whole. In terms of content, the various topics show a great variety, but also a far-reaching agreement in the basic questions of faith and life: In Jesus Christ, God created salvation for a world that otherwise would be lost. But because this salvation consists in the renewed communion with God, people are asked for their answer to God's promise. The goal is a life in love for God and for neighbor.
