OverviewI kept this diary every day during this Northern Ireland tour as the Officer Commanding 15 Platoon, D Company, 1st Battalion Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders from 23 November 1975 - 3rd April 1976. In between then and my retirement on 31 March 2023 it had not seen the light of day. What I can say is that in this transcript I have strayed very little from what I wrote in 1975/76. Sometimes it was boring and other times exciting but that is how it was. Overall, we wanted to do a good job and all come back safely, after all, that is what we had been trained to do.
