Overview

My name is Angelina Jolie and, yes, Brad will be picking me up after school today in the parking lot. On some days as a substitute teacher, this is how I begin class in order to get the attention of the students. It works. Elementary school kids respond with Really? The middle school students just laugh. High school teenagers are dumbfounded that anyone, even a substitute teacher, would say such a ridiculous thing in public. I am an educator, voter, constituent, and taxpayer. I CAN get the attention of students. Between elections though, how can I influence the behavior of the players in our political system? Who is my competition? The Hatfields, McCoys, lobbyists and special interest groups. How many candidate whisperers does it take to create a roar? It's marketing, not politics.
