(Laurent Giroux, Laval theologique et philosophique) Author InformationThe Author: Born in 1923 in Hungary, Dr. Joos studied at the University of Budapest, and at the University of Grenoble, then in Canada at McGill University, at the Institut d'etudes Medievales (Montreal) and received his Ph.D. from the University of Montreal. He is Professor of Philosophy at Concordia University (Montreal) and has taught as guest professor at the Universite Laval (Quebec) and at the Universite de Montreal. His field of teaching and research is metaphysics and intentionality - both in the middle ages and in phenomenology. On these topics he has published several articles in English, French and Hungarian and presented numerous papers at philosophical congresses. He edited and contributed to La scolastique: certitude et recherche, Bellarmin, Montreal, 1980. He has written on Georg Lukacs - Lukacs's Last Autocriticism: the Ontology (1983), and has published three other books with Peter Lang, Intentionality (1989), Lukacs and His World (1988) and Poetic Truth and Transvaluation in Nietzsche's Zarathustra (1987, 1991).
