Overview

Unter Kryptorchismus oder Hodenhochstand versteht man das Anhalten der Hodenwanderung an einer beliebigen Stelle ihres normalen embryonalen Weges. Das dauerhafte Fehlen des Hodens im Hodensack und im Leistenkanal definiert den nicht tastbaren Hoden. Nicht tastbare Hoden machen 20 bis 30 % der Kryptorchidenfälle aus. Ohne Behandlung kann der Krankheitsverlauf von zwei Komplikationen begleitet sein: Unfruchtbarkeit und Degeneration, was eine frühzeitige chirurgische Behandlung rechtfertigt. Die Laparoskopie stellt sowohl diagnostisch als auch therapeutisch den Goldstandard dar.
