To readers, one may know her as an author, entrepreneur, survivor, and a modern day superwoman. To friends and family she is known as Alicia Griffin, mother, daughter, friend, wife and hero. Born in Houston, Texas and raised in Fort Myers, FL, Alicia Griffin is the epitome of trial and triumph. At an early age Alicia faced some of the most trying times but through her faith in God and determined mentality, she found ways to rise above adversity. The struggles she endured all came with a price: Teen pregnancy at the age of sixteen, the untimely death of the father of her children by the age of eighteen and looking for love in all of the wrong places, thus resulting in five out of wedlock children by the age of twenty-four. When there was nowhere else to turn Alicia turned to God. Overtime she managed to turn her life around and was given the strength to provide for her family, the life she was never afforded. Being diagnosed with cancer would discourage anyone from attaining their goals. But for Alicia, this was only motivation to grasp a hold of her opportunities and capitalize on them. Since defeating cancer, Alicia involved herself with many businesses and organizations such as the United States Black Chamber, Inc., Working Women of Tampa Bay and has recently started her own entrepreneur networking group and mentoring group, Hidden Treasures. Alicia Griffin lives in Tampa FL with her husband Terrence Griffin where she own and operates three businesses Bethel Business Solutions, Pretty Laces, Pretty Faces, and Alicia Productions Inc. Currently, she is working on her third book and with God by her side and the support of her family and friends she believes that she can accomplish any and everything.
