"Amar Mitra [1951- present] is a powerful award-wining writer of the contemporary era, who writes about the lost time, the loss of glory of both rural and metropolitan lives. He has won numerous awards for his novels and short stories, like All-India Katha Award [for a story, Swadeshjatra], Amritalok Award [ for the novel, Arundhati Tarar Raat] and lately Sarat Memorial Award [ lifetime achievement]. He had won Sahitya Akademi award for his novel ""Dhruvaputra"", in 2006. In 2022, he has won the prestigious a O. Henry Award from the U.S for his short story, Gaonburo. Ketaki Datta is an Associate Professor of English with Bidhannagar Govt. College, Kolkata. She has two novels in English [ A Bird Alone and One Year for Mourning], one book of poems [ Across the Blue Horizon, U.K.} and quite a few translated stories and novels to her credit. Shesh Namaskar [ The Last Salute] by Santosh Kumar Ghosh, translated by her, had been published by Sahitya Akademi in 2014. The Voyage [ Paadi by Jarasandha], Selected Short Stories of Rabindranath Tagore are a few of her translated works. Her translated stories have been published in Indian Literature, Pratibha India, as well."
