OverviewThe Governorate of Dhofar, Oman’s southern province, stretches from Salalah in the south, across the monsoon mountains and up to the Empty Quarter in the north. Today there are a wide range of programmes to conserve species such as the iconic Arabian leopard and the Arabian humpback whale. These studies involve government organisations, environmental NGOs, eco-tourists and volunteers. This beautiful book combines high quality photography with an informative narrative to present the region’s diverse landscapes, climate, water resources, flora, fauna, peoples and natural resource management.
