He left the Corporation there two handsome pieces of plate. Later, was Recorder of Barnstaple, and in 1646 represented the Borough in Parliament. On 26th July, 1647, was made lp. For the County of Devon. Was thrice married, but left one only son, John, who died at Barnstaple in 1653. He himself died at Cheshunt 22nd March, 1666.
