It does so through the case study of Lavrion, Turkey, by examining the historical process of this former mining site which has turned intoa site of industrial and cultural heritage. It explores the ruins and monuments which could be considered the industrial & mining heritage of Lavrion, the restoration, and rehabilitation of the mine buildings, and describes the activities succeeded through the management of a university and through the provided finance on an abandoned mining site.
